Maria Vahervuo
I was born in Helsinki in Finland. The AT practice I started from curiosity towards the Alexander Technique when I moved to The Netherlands to do my post graduate music studies in the Royal Conservatory in The Hague 1999. When joining the class I hoped that the AT would improve my double bass playing. Soon I noticed that the lessons were effecting not only my playing, but my whole being and life in general in a positive way. After several years of intense practice of the Alexander Technique, I decided to train as a teacher myself.

Currently I’m teaching young professionals in music universities, giving private lessons and workshops in Amsterdam and taking part in international scientific research projects about the body mind connection and Alexander Technique.
My motivation as a teacher is to help my students reach their full potential in all areas of life. This includes recovering from complaints, managing pain to high performance in sport, art and business.
